The integration with monday.com creates every new contact from Swopi as an item on a board you pick. It works with the monday CRM boards (Contacts, Leads) and with any board of your own.
One-way push via the monday API v2. Swopi never deletes anything on the board. The connection is native OAuth, you sign in with your account and allow access.
#Overview
| Target CRM | monday.com (monday CRM and custom boards) |
| Connection | Native OAuth (monday.com sign in) |
| What gets created | An item on the board you picked |
| Trigger | Automatically on a new contact, or manual sending of selected contacts |
| Deduplication | By the email column, an existing item is updated |
| Availability | Swopi Teams plan, configured by the administrator |
#What is different about monday.com
monday.com has no contact object. Contacts, Leads and Deals are ordinary boards, a record is an item and fields are columns. There is no way to tell from the API that a given board is the Contacts board: people rename them and they are usually in their own language. So you pick the board, and Swopi then offers you the real columns of that board rather than an invented list of fields.
#Prerequisites
- the Swopi Teams plan and the administrator role,
- a monday.com account allowed to write to the target board.
#How to connect
Dashboard → Integrations → monday.com:
- Click Connect monday.com → sign in and allow access.
- Pick the board your leads should be written to.
- Check the column mapping, Swopi suggests it from the column types.
- Use Create test lead to verify the write.
Swopi asks for two permissions only: read boards and their columns and create and update items. Nothing else.
#Sync settings
| Option | Description |
|---|---|
| Automatic sync | The lead is written as soon as it is captured. Turn it off to send manually. |
| Board | Where items are created. You can change it at any time. |
#Field mapping
The list of target fields holds the columns of the board you picked, with their type. Anything you do not map is not written to monday.com, so go through the mapping after picking a board.
What Swopi suggests on its own:
| Field in Swopi | Board column |
|---|---|
| Name | item name |
| the first email column | |
| Phone | the first phone column |
| Website | the first link column |
| Note | the first long text column |
| Company | a text column named Company / Account / Organisation |
| Job title | a text column named Title / Position / Role |
Deduplication by email. Swopi looks for an existing item through the email column you mapped. If the board has none, every export creates a new item.
Mind the column types. Every column type in monday.com has its own value format (email, phone, link, date, status). Swopi converts the value by column type for you, so you only need to map onto a column that makes sense for the content.
#Custom fields
Every column on the board is equal as far as Swopi is concerned, so your own columns simply show up in the list. Swopi does not create new columns: add them on the board and click Reload boards in the mapping. See Field mapping.
#Limits worth knowing about
monday.com counts a daily number of API calls per plan (on lower plans 1,000 a day for the whole account, shared with your other integrations). That is why Swopi does not read the board columns again for every lead but keeps them from the moment you picked the board.
